Happy with this recognition, Pedro revealed that he was going to dedicate this Feroz Honor Award to Agustí Villaronga: «He passed away a few days ago and he was supposed to pick up the award instead of me». Let’s remember that it was last January 22 when the film director died at the age of 69 in Barcelona, according to the Film Academy.
«I absolutely fell down»
In his speech, Almodóvar said that «one feels in a thousand ways and one is very fragile», thanking the organizers of the Awards for placing an image of his mother: «Thank you very much, it is too much emotion, I was very sure before going upstairs, but the moment I saw that image I absolutely fell down».
«Ana de Armas deserves the Oscar»
We asked the director about the nomination of Ana de Armas at the Oscars and he assured us that despite her great professionalism, it cannot be said that she is the new Penelope: «No, I think they can both coexist, they are very different, they will both work very hard, I think they are both in a wonderful professional moment, Ana deserves the Oscar, what she does as Marilyn is impressive, but this year there are two fierce Michelle Yeoh and Cate Blanchett who will make it difficult, but it is a role that deserves an Oscar», said Almodóvar.
